Register Your New Student for the 2024-2025 School Year
A New Student is one who is NOT currently attending any of the following:
South Burlington School District School
South Burlington School District Act 166 Partner Program
An Independent School (Baird, Bellcate, One School, etc.) via the South Burlington School District

***Please note: We will be prioritizing the processing of New and Student Registration forms for students enrolling in Kindergarten. The processing of all other New Student Registrations will occur toward the end of Spring.

Step 1: Gather Your Information

Name of previous school, city, and state (the secretary will email or fax a request for student records to your student's previous school).
Health conditions and medications that need to be noted.
Doctor and Dentist Name/Phone Number (if known).
Court documents with information regarding the custody of the student or if the student is mentioned in a protection order (if necessary).
****A total of three adults must be listed as contacts for all Pre-Kindergarten students
Step 2: Gather Your Documents
The district requires the following documents for every student to start school. While we highly recommend that families upload their documents during the online registration process, they may email or drop them off at the school or the district’s Central Office. The district MUST have all documents on file for your student to attend school.
Required Registration Documents
Proof of Residency
The term residency means where you actually live. Residency requirements are not met merely because one owns a property, has a business, or has a post office box in South Burlington.

Birth Certificate or valid, unexpired Passport Birth Certificate or valid, unexpired Passport (a copy is acceptable)
Court documents (if necessary) with information regarding the custody of the student or if the student is mentioned in a protection order.
Health Documents (In-House PreKindergarten to Grade 12 Only)*
Immunization Record (View the list of immunizations required by the VT Department of Health )
Well-Care/Health Examination Form (required for prekindergarten students at Chamberlin Preschool, Orchard Preschool, and RMCS Preschool)
* Health Documents are NOT required for Act 166 registration.
Step 3: Register Your Student(s)

Add your student to your account.
Complete the New Student Registration.
Repeat for each additional new student.
Click the blue button below to begin registering your New Sudent for the 2024-2025 School Year:

Step 4: Complete Additional Forms
Registration for School's Out (as needed)
SBSD's school-aged, licensed childcare program for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade.
Step 5: Next Steps
Your school/program will communicate with you via email and/or phone call if more information is needed.
Registering your student for Kindergarten through Fifth (5) Grade? Please know that prioritization is being given to Kindergarten registration. All other grade level registrations may not be processed until the end of the summer.
