This week at the middle school, 6th grader Social Studies students presentations their final projects in their World Regions and Culture Unit.
Students worked on researching a region from around the world so they could understand the culture that exists there. Polaris and Verve students needed to classify any area of the earth as a formal, functional, or perceptual region. They researched the type of region, human characteristics of that region, and physical characteristics of that region, then they made presentations to show off their research.
According to social studies teachers Gary Russell and Blair Guthrie, their exceptional presentations reflected the culmination of their focused research. The students exceeded expectations by sharing some excellent cuisine, teaching engaging language lessons, and highlighting fascinating cultural traditions!
Many parents made it in to celebrate their student's work, sample food and take part in the activities! Thank you to Food Services Coordinator Rhonda Ketner and Principal Scott Sivo who were both instrumental in putting this showcase together since it was the first time we've hosted parents/families in the building during school hours for an event like this since Covid!
