Student Voice and Choice
RMCS students and staff participated in a school-wide vote to decide on the design of our new school sign. The goal of this activity was to continue honoring student voice and choice at RMCS and to emphasize belonging by giving everybody a chance to weigh in on this important decision.
Students could choose where to place the interlocking SB on the sign. Four choices included:
On Marky's antler
At the bottom corner of the building
After the words, Where Everybody Is Somebody
The SB in a circle in place of Marky the Moose
We held the vote on Monday, November 4, to give students a positive experience with voting before our national election. We stressed that everyone's vote matters. The winning design will be a 100-square-foot sign at the end of the ZEMs addition. We are so excited that our new school sign will be installed in approximately six weeks!
