What does the Office of Equity and Anti-Racism do?

For the 2023-2024 school year, SBSD is...

  • Developing a set of PK-12 Social Emotional Learning standards that are designed with an anti-racist lens

  • Administering PK-12 student, family and staff surveys to cultivate a deeper understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion in our schools

  • Action planning to address aspects of our current hiring processes that support and impede the hiring and retention of BIPOC educators, staff and administrators

  • Working to increase transparency and efficacy of institutional response to all incidents of discrimination

  • Working with educators in developing inclusive curriculum and culturally relevant and sustaining teaching practices
